    Lord Zedd arrives and takes over Rita's palace. He then sets out to succeed where Rita failed by destroying the Power Rangers. To defeat this new evil, the Rangers are given new Thunderzords.

    Our heroes are summoned to the Command Center when powerful galactic forces cause Zordon to shut down. Zedd decides to use Zordon's absence to stir up trouble and creates Primator, a shape-changing monster out for no good.

    Zedd launches a new diabolical scheme when he creates a spell that causes Billy and Zack to see their friends in a whole new way: as putties! With the Rangers confused, Zedd creates the Saliguana and begins a new assault against our heroes.

    Jason is down about Tommy's absence and the others try to help him cope by trying to find Tommy. But, on their way, our heroes stumble into an ambush and are captured by Goldar. Now, Jason must find a way to save his friends from the same fate as Tommy.

    Zedd decides that he needs a new queen and chooses Kimberly for the task. Goldar takes her prisoner and casts a spell to make her evil.

    Angel Grove is the sight of the exciting Stone Canyon triathalog. But, Zedd interrupts the event by using one of his monsters to hypnotize the crowd into submission. Even the Power Rangers struggle against Zedd's power.
